The Chilean trio Monje Nudista came back after two years of silence to present a new composition by the name Peter Sellers. This record follows the band's observances and travels between divergent moods while untangles a surprising allegory narrated along several voices. Repetitive echoes from a golem making a plea for life opens the path to gloomier regions, where even organic rhythms feel disquieting. The heterogeneous objects and textures play their parts in a tragedy that unfolds to a foreseeable, but no because of this less sorrowful, finale.
Peter Sellers was recorded during the summer of 2011 in a small room in Santiago de Chile. Daniel Mendoza plays the violin, opto theremin and several objects, Esteban Robledo performs in drums, voices and effects whilst Marcelo Valeria operates a laptop with unsanctioned samples and synthesizers. The mixing and production was made on AdS/CFT Records. The pictures for the cover were taken by Esteban Robledo, the illustrations were made by Soya le Gato and the design and composition by Marcelo Valeria.
