Monje Nudista - Peter Sellers

The Chilean trio Monje Nudista came back after two years of silence to present a new composition by the name Peter Sellers. This record follows the band's observances and travels between divergent moods while untangles a surprising allegory narrated along several voices. Repetitive echoes from a golem making a plea for life opens the path to gloomier regions, where even organic rhythms feel disquieting. The heterogeneous objects and textures play their parts in a tragedy that unfolds to a foreseeable, but no because of this less sorrowful, finale. 

Peter Sellers was recorded during the summer of 2011 in a small room in Santiago de Chile. Daniel Mendoza plays the violin, opto theremin and several objects, Esteban Robledo performs in drums, voices and effects whilst Marcelo Valeria operates a laptop with unsanctioned samples and synthesizers. The mixing and production was made on AdS/CFT Records. The pictures for the cover were taken by Esteban Robledo, the illustrations were made by Soya le Gato and the design and composition by Marcelo Valeria.

NoNRePReSeNTaTiONAl BeSTiArY is the first of three related albums by Kid_Nap & Fokker. The present one unleash the essentials of non-local dub, and, like a pandora's box, they can't be taken back. Machines who infer sounds enfolded in electromagnetic waves… live instruments nurturing themselves… revered riddims that were chanted long ago at dusk… all blended and blared by the speakers. Bass aimed to the brain, drums for the heart, and noise… because music emanates from living beings.

Monje Nudista - Now I am become death OST

Monje Nudista is an unorthodox chilean improvisation trio. In the lonely track for this album, ensayo secreto (secret rehearsal), the band sailed from noise to hip hop, joining the survey on the film towards the implacable outcome of death. Devastating soundscapes clasp in the verge of feral punks riffs, while a mumbled excerpt from Bolaño's 2666 seems -at first glance- incongruent with the peaceableness on the screen. Incongruent as life becoming death.


Recording live on stage in November 2008, the soundtrack -or more especifically scores for the film- is one of the most acclaimed records from Monje Nudista, unfortunally one of their lasts tracks before going on hiatus in 2009.
